“I am a sensitive person and because of that have a strong intuition of other’s emotions and needs. My sensitivity helps me to soothe others because I know what they are feeling. That's why I fit so well with young children, since they are not able to communicate their needs yet. Overall, I live life with all my heart and give 100% of myself to whatever I have committed to. I originally went to college and studied Early Childhood Education, wanting to be a Kindergarten teacher. After student teaching a Kindergarten class, I realized that it wasn't the right fit. I needed something more directly involved in the child's life and decided that being a Nanny was perfect for that. As a nanny; you are a guardian, role model, friend, and most importantly, a huge part of that child's development. Being a Nanny allows me to be more hands-on and have a personal relationship with each child I work with. Overall though, I love being part of a family structure and firmly believe that it takes a village to raise a child! My goal as one of your Thurston County Nannies is to teach children as well as learn from them; to nurture growth in a supportive, compassionate and loving way and help them see the world. I am willing to do housekeeping at request such as laundry, cooking, dishes, and tidying up. I am willing to do more if the schedule allows me the time so as not to take away from the children. If I had to describe myself in five adjectives I would say that I am genuine, caring, personable, cheerful, and dedicated. Activities that I would like to incorporate in the daily plan would include outdoor activities and exercise, creative time, dramatic play, reading and writing, learning, and down time. I will also incorporate plenty of walks and playground fun, library exploration, arts and crafts, and cooking projects. If asked to describe the perfect family seeking a Nanny like me they would be full of love and open to the gifts I can bring. I'm hoping for a family that will be a part of my life as much as I am theirs.”

“Jenny looked after the children to our satisfaction and they are very happy with her also. This is to confirm that I have known and used Jennifer as my preferred babysitter since she was recommended to me in September 2011. Jennifer baby-sits for my two children Paige aged 9 and Marcus aged 6. Paige is an extremely energetic and spirited child and Jennifer always engages her in activities that keep her interested and occupied. In the evenings she will encourage calming activities such as reading, drawing or doing crafts before settling her in to bed and enforcing our bed-times with her. Marcus has special needs – he is non-verbal and is not potty trained. Jennifer works extremely well with him, engaging him in play activities if he is interested and ensuring his overall safety within the home. She assists him to eat his dinner and will change him and put him to bed. When the weather is good, she will often take the children to the playground or play in the yard with them. Jennifer has been extremely reliable and in all the time we have used her has never had to cancel on us. If she is unsure of her availability, she always replies in a timely manner to confirm one way or another. She has even gone so far as to recommend other Thurston County Nannies who have experience with special needs children for a time she was unable to sit for a special event. Jennifer is extremely likable, well natured, and conscientious. The children look forward to seeing her and the older one often asks when she can next come over to look after them. ”
