Kate chose to become a Snohomish County Summer Nanny to make a positive impact on children!

“I am a very outgoing, fun, and energetic person and I have always enjoyed working with children. I have worked with autistic children one-on-one in their homes, schools, and community. If I were asked to describe in one sentence the reason I have chosen to be in the Nanny profession over any other it would have to be that I am happiest when working with children. I believe that it is important to enjoy what you do, and I truly love working with children. I have been serving in some form of childcare experience for over 2 years and can honestly say I love what I do! I feel that children are loving, fun, energetic, hilarious, interesting, smart, kind, and full of life. My goal as a Snohomish County Summer Nanny is to take care of children and allow them to have fun while earning their trust in me. I enjoy not only playing with children, but I have an artistic background and I love to do arts and crafts. I am willing to do housekeeping that includes washing dishes and doing laundry. If I had to describe myself in five adjectives, I would say that I am trustworthy, kind, easygoing, creative, and confident. Activities that I would like to incorporate in the daily plan for the family I care for would include arts and crafts, imaginative play, dramatic play, outdoor activities, independent play, and any other activities that the family recommends or children enjoy. If asked to describe the perfect family seeking a Nanny like me I would hope they would be caring, outgoing, loving, and accept me as a part of their family.”
“I have known Katie for the past year as a Therapeutic Support Staff person, and I was her supervisor. Katie is organized, efficient, and prompt. She is very kind to all of the children and treats them with the utmost respect. She understands the importance of building a trusting relationship with children and always had high energy and enthusiasm. Katie was gentle and playful and corrected negative behavior in a calm, neutral manner. Katie understands the importance of structure as well as the importance of playfulness within that structure. Any employment that requires Katie to work with children would be fortunate to get her on staff. She is a wonderful Snohomish County Summer Nanny and is talented with children.”
“As the Volunteer Coordinator and Assistant Director at a center, a social gathering place for seriously, chronically, terminally ill, and disabled children, I have the pleasure of interacting with many students. Over the past year, I have had the opportunity to meet and work with Katie. Katie began volunteering here through her position as an intern. Since then, Katie has displayed many promising qualities and has had the opportunity to interact with special needs children. Katie held many responsibilities as an Intern. Some of these include working one-on-one with special needs children including assisting with them with various therapeutic activities, encouraging social interaction and helping to increase self-esteem. Katie was not only involved with the interactions with the children, but she was also instrumental in planning daily activities for the children to participate in as part of our children's and teen activities and Day Camp Program. Katie did a fabulous job with her tasks and responsibilities of working with the children and planning age appropriate individual and group activities. She has certainly been exposed to a wide range of illnesses and disabilities. Katie handled herself in a professional and empathic manor with the children and their parents. It was evident that Katie is able to work with all different types of children and is a natural when it comes to her chosen profession. Katie is a mature young lady who shows responsibility and kindness and is sure to do well as a Snohomish County Summer Nanny.”
