“I believe children need positive, consistent role models in their lives and I strive to be just that. I have a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education. I am certified to teach kindergarten through 6th grades. I am also certified to teach in private schools with the ages of Nursery through Kindergarten. I minored in music, which, alongside teaching and helping children grow, is my passion. I love to sing and perform. I can play a few instruments, the flute being my best! I love to help children use the arts as a means of expression and discovery. I would love to be that positive role model in a child’s life as I continue my education. I see no better way to spend my free time than helping a child grow emotionally, physically, and mentally. If I was asked to describe in one sentence the reason I have chosen to be in the Nanny profession over any other because I can have the opportunity to teach and help children on a one on one basis, and there is nothing I’d want more. I have also coached youth sport teams, including volleyball and softball. I am extremely passionate about working with children and I know I will make a lifelong career of it! I have been serving in some form of childcare experience for over 8 years and can honestly say I LOVE what I do! I feel the children are indescribable, each unique in so many ways! Children are extremely smart and learn so quickly. They are honest. They speak their minds. Children are teachers. They have taught me many things over the years, the one lesson I hold most dearly is to enjoy life, especially the little things. My favorite memories with children and students are those that turn into laugh-fests, those moments that remind us that laughing keeps us young! Children are friends and role models. Children are trusting, loving and the bond that grows between an adult and a child is something that should never be taken for granted. Children are unique, and they remind me constantly that there is nothing better to be! My goal as a Snohomish County After School Nanny is to be a positive role model in not only the lives of children, but in the life of a family. I strive to be the best person I can be and hope to work with a family that also has this self-motivation to help others. I am willing to do housekeeping at the family’s requests that include cooking, cleaning, laundry, anything! If I had to describe myself in five adjectives I would say that I am caring, creative, trustworthy, silly, and smart. Activities that I would like to incorporate in the daily plan for the family I care for would include reading, learning, and outdoor activities. I am very athletic and would love to work with a family that has children involved in sports or other extra activities. I love to do arts and crafts. My favorite part of teaching is creating child made items for parents and families. If asked to describe the perfect family seeking a Nanny like me I would hope they would be a lot like me, outgoing and happy! I would hope they are loving and kind. I would love to work with an active family.”

Prior to my daughter's time in Miss Meredith’s classroom, I did not have a clear understanding of what a preschool teacher could do for my child.
