“I am a creative thinker with an open mind which allows me to explore alternative solutions to problems that will result in the best possible outcome. Furthermore, I am very energetic and hard working. In addition to working an assistant teacher at an accredited nursery school, I have utilized my knowledge as a certified Health Coach to develop a snack program which is currently implemented. I am also a part time instructor for women and children in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I love working with children and this is the perfect opportunity for me to offer individualized attention in supporting the child's development. If I was asked to describe in one sentence the reason I have chosen to be in the Queen Anne Domestic Care profession over any other, it would have to be because I enjoy the fun experience children bring when helping them learn and develop. I have been serving in some form of childcare for over five years and can honestly say, I LOVE what I do! Children are like little sponges, just waiting to explore their curiosity in new things! While in my care, I would like to create and implement opportunities in the daily plan for the family to promote self-help skills and confidence. This can be accomplished by offering a child a customized approach to enhance their physical/emotional development. I would love to offer activities with cooking as well as outdoor activities such as trail walks etc. If asked to describe the perfect family seeking a nanny like me I would hope they would be fun/energetic and compassionate! My goal as a nanny is to provide loving and instructional support while they explore these experiences by offering individualized attention in age appropriate activities. I am also willing to do housekeeping which includes laundry, dish washing and straightening up of household. To sum up, if I had to describe myself in five adjectives, I would say that I am passionate, committed, hardworking, fun, and responsible.”
“By way of introduction, I am the founding member of a health and education firm. We specialize in biomechanics, precision exercise training, individual and group instruction, and muscle balancing. In addition to these services, we also provide a martial arts program. Rachel currently works as an instructor for our children's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Program. Rachel does an outstanding job. She is clear and engaging, she is fun, and most importantly, she is responsible and ethical. Rachel does more than teach the children Brazilian Jiu Jitsu techniques; she is a role model. Rachel provides instruction, support, direction, and individualized attention. She is dedicated to doing the best job possible and is always open to feedback and anything that can help her develop as an instructor, as a role model, and as a person. We found Rachel to be a refreshing addition to our school. The staff, children and parents all hold her in the highest regard and she will excel in any role she receives in the Queen Anne Domestic Care field.”
“Rachel has been my Kid’s and Women's Jiu-Jitsu instructor for the past 6 months. During that time, she has done an excellent job working with the children in my school and would be an asset to anyone looking for Queen Anne Domestic Care. Rachel’s experience working with children was apparent right away and makes a big difference in helping the children learn.”
“Rachel was the much-adored pre-school teacher of my daughter and will shine in any role she takes on in the field of Queen Anne Domestic Care. Rachel was one of three primary teachers for a class of twenty-one four and five-year old’s. My daughter was in class five days a week, so we had the opportunity to get to know each other well, as parent participation was encouraged during the school year. Also, most of the children spent time playing at the school outside of school hours, and parents and teachers interacted less formally, but very frequently – passing in the halls, chit-chatting while the children played – which really fostered the parent/teacher/child relationship. Rachel was always encouraging, fun, and supportive of the children – while at the same time managing to be unquestionably authoritative at the same time. She interacted with good humor and patience, and always responded to four-year-old antics with a tolerance and proficiency that made the most experienced parent regard her with admiration. She could be silly with our children, and at the same time hold them responsible for their behavior – which, at the age of four, occurred quite regularly! At Rachel’s suggestion, my daughter attended a Jiu Jitsu class for children, which she taught at few towns outside of ours. It wasn’t that Sloane had a singular interest in the sport, but she loved Rachel and wanted to be a part of whatever it was Rachel was instructing. Although we did not complete the class, due to its being held at a difficult time for our family – my daughter continues to talk about it – and during our short participation, I witnessed Rachel encouraging little girls to be strong and respectful of themselves and others – teaching them to take turns and manage their awkward little bodies and emotions with grace and confidence. I also asked Rachel to watch a group of the Nursery School children during a school break – and Rachel single handedly breezed through the hours with six four-year old’s – all with their own agenda. She was creative, fun, responsible – I trusted her with our children implicitly.”
“I have known Rachel for several years in both a personal and professional capacity. I have always found her to be a person of high integrity, motivation and compassion. We have both been gym instructors. The gym is a martial arts gym, teaching many disciplines. I have observed Rachel's class, which has been the children's class on Saturday mornings. She creates a fun, safe and energetic environment for the children, whose ages can range from young elementary to young teens. Her instruction is both structured and flexible enough to adjust to the moods and needs of the young students she is in charge of. Her teaching is not just confined to technique but is just as concerned about social development and proper conduct. I have always found her to be patient and understanding. Rachel is very passionate and when it comes to her responsibilities and job performance. I have been a police officer for 22 years. I am always very critical of individuals who are in charge of and teach children, partly because of my profession but more so since I am a father of two children myself. I would trust Rachel to teach my children in her class and would recommend her to anyone seeking Queen Anne Domestic Care. I’ve seen her personally interact with the children, and care for them. What impressed me was that she created an educational environment, but the children were still having fun. I trust her with my children – I don’t think there’s much more to say than that.”
“I have had the pleasure of knowing her on both a personal and professional scope for more than half a decade. Our introduction began within the walls of a martial arts where I was acting senior instructor at the time and Rachel was a fellow instructor, guide and colleague in a newly extended program the academy was just implementing. I can only dispense a multitude of accolades about my first experience with Rachel as a professional in her ability to navigate ever so elegantly the challenges of mentoring the students within the program, both new and old. As you can imagine, martial arts academies have risen to become expansive programs that offer not only traditional self-defense for individuals, but extend to many adults, and especially children and adolescents who face a complex number of social, physical and inter-personal situations that can be difficult to mentor. It has been the patience, the focus and accountability, the precise consistency and the rare compassion in Rachel that has enabled her to be one of the better teachers, mentors and caretakers I have had the privilege of coming across both in my work as a martial artist as well as my life in the media, sports and entertainment industry. Recently, I have extended the working relationship with Rachel to a new level in the creation and execution of a national program focusing on therapeutic martial arts, with a great focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as a few other socially challenging disorders on all ages of the spectrum. Any family seeking Queen Anne Domestic Care will be very lucky to have her.”
