“My motto is family is everything! My family is very close. We do everything together and will always be there for one another. I have chosen to be a Pierce County Governess because it would be a wonderful experience to meet another family and to bond with them like my own. Most of my friends are nannies as well and love it. If I was asked to describe in one sentence the reason I have chosen to be in the nanny profession over any other, because it would be a great experience and I would want to make a difference in the lives of others. I have been serving in some form of childcare experience for over 8 years and can honestly say I love what I do! I feel the children are an important aspect of our future society. Teaching them right from wrong at an early age will result in a positive outcome for the future. My goal as a Pierce County Governess is to love the family like my own and to provide the best care needed for that family. I am able to do housekeeping at the children requests that includes meal preparation as well as light cleaning. If I had to describe myself in five adjectives I would say that I am funny, friendly, kind, patient, and high- energy. Activities that I would like to incorporate in the daily plan for the family I care for would include indoor and outdoor activities, nature walks, going to the park, arts and crafts, and any other activity that the children are interested in. “Daniella was employed at the Daycare Center for over 4 years. She left us last month when she graduated. Daniella has worked part time with us as a teacher’s aide. She has worked in all my 6 classrooms. The age ranges are 6 weeks through our school aged children. Daniella was a very conscientious employee. She was very reliable and eager to work every day. “Both my husband and I work full and were in need of care of our, at that time, 5 and 8 year old. We were having difficulty finding a Pierce County Governess that would be able to drive and if needed have the children in the car, and someone who was willing to arrive at our home at 6:00am. Daniella was recommended to me by a coworker. Our children never really had a childcare provider other than their grandparents, so this was an adjustment for them. Daniella came over one night to meet the children and get to know them a little bit. Instantly, our daughter was in love; our son was won over soon after that. Daniella had a caring attitude and calm demeanor. She loved children and you could sense that. Her personality reminded my children of the teachers that they had encountered in daycare. During the day, Daniella not only played with our children and kept them safe, she helped our children complete their summer packets for school and she worked with our daughter to increase her reading and math abilities. She also helped make sure that they completed their chores and helped them learn how to complete them. She was a wonderful find for our family, but sadly summer ended, and she had to return to school. In the winter of that year, she returned to us for a few days of winter break. Our children still continue to ask about her and wish she would be able to babysit them. She truly has touched them. Daniella will make a great addition to any household.”
