“I am a mature, trustworthy, reliable, caring Mercer Island Housekeeper. I am also energetic, responsible, and a fast learner. My duties working with previous families included: playing and swimming with the children, cooking, cleaning up and teaching children to clean up, driving them to school, parks, doctors’ appointments, play dates and birthday parties. I went grocery shopping, helped with shopping for clothes, entertainment/educational videos and books. I felt like part of the family and formed lasting bonds with the children and their parents. I am a very positive and patient person. I find that I learn as much from the children as I teach them. I am comfortable being the children’s playmate, but I can also establish authority. I enjoy reading to them, playing outdoors, or simply working on puzzles indoors. I hope to meet with you and your child, and become a helpful addition to your family. “Serah was needed as a Mercer Island Housekeeper to look after my two children, cook for them, launder their clothes, bathe them and play with them. She also did some light housekeeping, such as sometimes folding laundry unrelated to the kids clothes, emptying the dish washer, help keep the kitchen clean and sometimes cook for the adults. “It took me a long time to find an Mercer Island Housekeeper who was qualified to take care of my daughter. Serah was a perfect fit! For me, my number one priority for finding a proper Nanny was to find someone who would actually enjoy spending time with my daughter and making my daughters day fulfilling and fun. I have saved all the early art projects that they worked on together - art projects that also incorporated learning - numbers, the alphabet, shapes, colors, drawing inside the lines, etc! Serah genuinely loves children and people, and her exuberance is shared with the children she cares for! She also is attuned to different kids interests/needs. My daughter wanted to learn, and she took advantage of that interest, but, when a friend was over, who was less bookish and more musical, those play dates would be focused more on music and instruments. Serah was great at handling play dates with more than one child, and both the kids and the parents had a great experience!”

“I have known Serah my entire life. All my life, she has taught me, encouraged me and guided me to realize my full potential, and continues to do so. She is honest, loyal, loving, patient, reliable, supportive and quite possibly the most responsible person I have ever known. Moreover, she manages to make learning fun! It was always a family joke that she should have been a kindergarten schoolteacher instead. Being an energetic lady, she’s well versed in most sports and introduced me to swimming, table tennis, lawn tennis and cycling from an early age; through her I found one of my greatest passions: swimming. I have also been in a position to observe her working (although from what I have seen, the correct word would be nurturing) with other children since I spent some time with the last family she worked with. The two girls she was taking care of absolutely love her, possibly because she treated them as she would her own. She would play with the girls then when playtime was over, would teach them how to put their toys away, making it a game. I haven’t much experience with children, being an only child, so for me to watch a one year old meticulously putting her toys away was a wonder. She went swimming with them, did grocery shopping, baked, did their laundry and put them to bed after some entertaining story time. She also established a set eating and sleeping pattern for the girls. Serah is also very patient, and taught me as well as a host of other children how to read, and encouraged/encourages learning at all levels. In short, she is a combination of mother, playmate and teacher all rolled into one warm and optimistic person. Of course, this is what I experienced growing up. Also, Serah loves taking pictures, and I remember she caught their very first steps on camera, as well as other memorable and hilarious moments so one can always be assured of many memories captured on camera. Plus, she’s a great cook and loves to bake. Watch out for her dishes that almost never last once off the stove! I am definitely recommending her for a job as a Mercer Island Housekeeper - She goes above and beyond all expectations and always gives her all to whatever she does. She is an inspiration and anyone would be lucky to have her as a nanny.”
