“I am currently attending college to become a teacher. I have been nannying for two families and babysat for others. One of the families I was a live-in nanny, therefore I have experience with every part of a child’s life. The other family I was after school care; I was in charge of pick-ups, after school activities (sports, arts), homework, bath time, laundry, snacks, dishes, and helping with general clean up. I also got to do the fun activities with the kids like playing tag, making art work (noddle art, etc.) going to the park, baking, and board games. I want to continue to be a Kirkland Nanny because I enjoy the company of children, and being able to see them grow and learn new things. If I was asked to describe in one sentence the reason I have chosen to be in the nanny profession over any other it would be because I am a kid at heart. I love to sit on the ground and play make believe. I enjoy when I have been working on colors or letters and I can see the light go on in the little child’s head. I have been working in some form of childcare experience for over three years and can honestly say I LOVE what I do! Children see the world with pure eyes and find joy in simple pleasures. They are actively learning all the time even when we think they are not watching. My goal as a nanny is to provide a fun, safe, and educational environment for the children. I like routines and believe children do well when they know what is expected of them. I do like to make learning into games especially for small ones. I am willing to do basic housekeeping, which includes laundry, dishes, snacks, lunches for kids, help with dinners some nights, and general clean-up of toys/kid’s area. If I had to describe myself in five adjectives I would say that I am active, bubbly, positive, a multi-taker, and creative. Activities that I would like to incorporate in the daily plan for the family I care for would include arts and crafts (there is always a fun and easy idea on the internet to try), story times, board games, baking, and being outside- if is going to the park or just the back yard to blow bubbles. I think doing homework or work book for children not in school yet is important daily. The perfect family I would fit best with would be a family that only needs help two days a week or afternoons only. I would like to work with one to three children.”
