“I am a fun-loving person that’s been a nanny for over 20 years. I love children; they bring so much joy to my life. I have been taking care of newborns up to teenagers and they have become like a family member to me. I would not want to do anything else. If I were asked to describe in one sentence the reason I have chosen to be in the Kirkland Domestic Care profession over any other it would have to be because seeing children grow and becoming part of the family makes my life happy. I really enjoy doing it. I have been serving in some form of childcare experience for over 20 years and can honestly say I really enjoy what I do! I feel the children are inspiring, funny, and seeing them grow is such joy to life itself. My goal as a nanny is to teach children how to grow as well as to learn different things in life. I have taught children how to read and become great readers in life. I am willing to do housekeeping that includes children laundry, preparing food, and cleaning up after them. If I had to describe myself in five adjectives, I would say that I am lovable, happy, enthusiastic, funny, and witty. Activities that I would like to incorporate in the daily plan for the family I care for would include walks, riding bikes, puzzles, games, and reading. If asked to describe the perfect family seeking a nanny like me I would hope they would be very outgoing, down to earth, and we would have things in common.”

“Debbie was extremely responsible and organized. Her priority was to care for our children, primarily. Their safety and well-being were most important. With four children, she managed to get all of her tasks accomplished. She used her time wisely and accomplished all of her responsibilities leaving my home neat and tidy. From the beginning, she had my children on a regular schedule that included meals, naps, playtime and reading. My children were not allowed to watch television or play video games. Playtime involved blocks, Legos, daily outdoor play and arts and crafts. Once they reached school age, they also worked on their homework after school. The children were all bathed and ready for bed when Debbie left for the evening. During the nine years, that Debbie was with us we never considered her a nanny; she was part of the family in every sense of the word. She kept the house tidy, did some laundry, vacuumed, mopped, kept the children’s rooms clean, etc., but she would have never had time, nor did we expect her to act as a full-time housekeeper. Where Debbie excelled was her unique ability to care for our children. Not only did she know exactly where and what each of our four young boys was doing and keep them safe (no small task), but also become their best friend at the same time. When she was with them in the house, they never had a dull moment, as she always kept them busy with new inventive games and crafts. When she was in the yard or at a park they would have such a good time that other children would invariably gravitate to her and soon she would be coordinating games with a whole crowd. However, she did not just coordinate; she was always one of the participants, even if it meant coming home just as dirty as the children were. To watch her work, it would always seem that she was having as much fun as the children. Just as importantly, they all respected her as well, and they knew she was, quick to handle any child something was unsafe or hurtful, but always in a nice way in which they would respond. I give Debbie my highest recommendation. As a testament to the great relationship we shared, she still keeps in contact with me and all of my children even though they all attend or have graduated from college. All these years later and she still makes an occasional visit and my children still receive a birthday note. My advice to anyone seeking Kirkland Domestic Care would be to hire Debbie at the first opportunity; you will never find a more experienced or caring individual to care for your children.”
