Jennifer is a King County Live Out Nanny with an amazing professional background as a Nanny!
|
“I am a loving and energetic nanny, as well as a certified pediatric nurse! I have lots of love and experience to share. If I was asked to describe in one sentence the reason I have chosen to be in the King County Live OUT Nanny profession over any other it would have to be because I greatly enjoy making a positive difference in families’ lives. I have been serving in some form of childcare for over 20 years and can honestly say I love what I do! I feel that children are like flowers that blossom and grow a little every day, giving us excitement and joy with each new day. My goal as a nanny is to encourage children of all ages to develop into the best individuals they can be. I am willing to do housekeeping that includes anything pertaining to the children. If I had to describe myself in five adjectives I would say that I am talkative, enthusiastic, generous, playful and creative. Activities that I would like to incorporate in the daily plan for the family I care for would include teaching of life skills, cooking, offer playtime and help with any homework (if needed), and much more. If asked to describe the perfect family seeking a nanny like me I would hope they would be kind and appreciate open communication as I do.”
“I have 3 boys and a set of twins on the way; more boys! I have always enjoyed using Jen to care for my children and they love her. She is energetic, giving, and she offers my children much enrichment. My oldest, now age 4, loves to keep her busy but she has that figured out and she makes sure he is engaged and well cared for. My 3-year-old finds cooking and baking with her fun. My 2-year-old shakes his head ‘no’ constantly but is so happy to do just about anything she suggests, including but not limited to throwing the hard boiled eggs she had prepared to color at Easter. She offers many activities like coloring, craft projects, or anything that the children can dream up like being under a homemade tent in the living room. She taught them to roll a ball in the house and throwing was for outside. She is loving and offers structure at the same time and the children benefit from this. Although she is not their grandmother they seem to enjoy her as if she were, and even have adopted the idea of calling her ‘G-ma’. I certainly do not mind as she seems to love the children as if they were her own. I could not have imagined raising my children without her help, guidance, and enrichment, and give her my highest recommendation as a King County Live OUT Nanny!”
“I have two very active boys that will run anyone ragged. My four-year-old is very independent but he wants to be sat with and to be loved and accepted. That is what she offers him. She introduced him to cooking, starting with simple mixes adding a couple of ingredients and now they together measure all the ingredients mixing them from scratch. He especially likes cracking the eggs. When it is time to rest and that is not on his ‘to do list’ she offers to hold him, and he often will fall asleep, he loves her. Important to note, he has some special needs regarding behavior, Epilepsy, and a sleep disorder. She helps him develop good choices in behavior and I know, as a nurse, she is quite capable to handle a seizure and to dispense his medication as directed. My almost 2-year-old son finds it difficult when I leave him with anyone from his grandparents to the daycare where he is enrolled. Jen is wonderful with him and he is getting better and the tears are less. He clings to her and she very quickly involves him with play and before you know it he is fine. She adapts the activities to his capabilities, as he wants to do everything his big brother does at less than half his brother’s age. She makes this possible. Both boys are motivated by curiosity and she can capitalize on that by engaging them in many different activities offering a wide range of activities. She offers practical guidance with structure with warmth and love. She takes them on trips, picnics, fishing, and low or no cost field trips. She is indispensable. Jen is a Girl Scout leader and she invited me to be a co leader in the same troop. She has been with this troop since the beginning. When I did I was hooked. Not just because I enjoyed scouting as a girl but because she is very involved with the girls and has been since they were in kindergarten and now they are 4th graders. What an inspiration. For example, she offers all of the principals and fundamentals a young lady should be aware of and opportunities that will help the girls to become leaders as they grow. She has taken them camping, and on many field trips. I have learned a lot from her and her style of caring for both my boys and from her desire to develop the girls in the troop to become all they can. I watched one night, as she held a crying and scared first grader, in G.S. during a camping trip all awhile a thunder storm took place. She managed to calm her down and engage the girls in singing loud enough to try and drown out the storm. What an amazing idea! Her inspiration of many other adults, other than myself, is commendable. One year she was given the Green Angel Award. The Green Angel encourages volunteers to support other Girl Scout volunteers and to enrich their own lives through Girl Scouting. She certainly does this and more. She is creative as a G.S. leader as well. If she thinks it is beneficial to the girls and what they are learning she has speakers come in and assist with different projects and badges. She offers a well-rounded program and loves what she does. The girls love her too. I see this for myself when even as fourth graders they come in and hug her before even taking off their winter jackets asking, ‘What are we going to do today?’. Each girl is special to her and she knows them well. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have regarding her abilities as a King County Live OUT Nanny.”
“I am writing to let you know of my experiences with Jennifer and her care for my one daughter, now age 10. When I first met Jen, I was quite young and she was very kind to me. She was my neighbor and I do not feel like we met by accident. Jen was working with disabled adults and attending nursing school and with her schedule we found an opportunity for her to care for my newborn. As a new mom, I had complete confidence with her care. She offered love and protection, guidance and caring to my child. When I was offered over-time, I could count on her to provide endless care of my baby. She is dependable, giving, creative, and much more. I could call her and in a moment's notice she would pitch in to help. She has been there for us now these last 10 years. She offers practical guidance and brings motherly/grandmotherly values and experience with her. My daughter is growing up quickly, but still longs to go over and play with her. She has joined her Girl Scout troop on Monday nights as well. Jen became a leader just for my daughter. I can distinctly remember when Miss Jen, went on vacation with our family and how that was a big help. She tended to all our travel needs for our daughter and thought of everything. Having her on vacation with us allowed our child to have the consistency she was used to and for us to have some time to explore and have fun at night while she was in care of our daughter. She is fair and honest. Deciding between the truth of a little girl's stories and the pure excitement of a child seeing things from a point of view only a child can. I know when I ask something of Miss Jen she will honor my request and that she is in tune with me as a parent after many years and any decision she makes for my child is a responsible one, with safety being at the top of the list and fun being the rest of the list. I would recommend her as a King County Live OUT Nanny to any family with children of any age. Please feel free to call me at any time.”
“This letter of recommendation comes to you with sincere trust and admiration for Jen. Our friendship has grown over the years. I have known her since we attended nursing school together. Jen remains the same great person I met then. One excellent thing about Jen is that she has more energy than almost anyone I know. She has the creativity and talent and good heart to match. Jennifer is a safe and courteous driver with a good driving record as well. I know she prides herself on staying close to her family as well. I have witnessed her in the kitchen where she prepared meals for a group of us nursing students when we would come to her home to study. Not only was our food delicious, but she efficiently prepared our meals along with the weekly meals prepared for the 4 handicapped adults that she was caring for in her home at the time. I saw first-hand the work Jen did with developmental disabled adults. She gave them guidance while allowing them to be as independent as they could safely be. She encouraged them to continue to advance their life skills. Jen was also knowledgeable with all their medications; she made sure were given properly and watched for any changes that may indicate interventions were warranted. Jennifer is very efficient, capable, and able to learn quickly. I encourage you to trust Jen to be as lovely as she presents herself. Somehow Jen manages to keep a very beautifully furnished, clean and lovely home. She also has overseen many creative landscaping ideas at her home. She is someone I admire very much, and I am certain you will grow to love her as your King County Live OUT Nanny very much. I would be willing to speak to you directly any time if you have any questions.”
“As an aunt, I have obviously known Jen since the day she was born. Although I have a special connection with all my nieces, Jen and her sister are extra special to me because her mother and I are twins. Since childhood, Jen has displayed a high energy level with anything and everything she has been interested in learning and exploring. Some of her special interests as a child and adolescence included dancing, gymnastics, animals, girl scouts, cheerleading and camping. She has always had a great interest in children whether younger cousins, friends of the family or her own peers. Jen would engage them by searching out their interests or suggesting some of her favorite activities, one that comes to mind was dancing. Jen would capture their attention by showing them her recital costumes which they could wear, teach them a few steps and from there plan and present a show. Jen has strong interests in many areas. Of course, her family comes first. She has displayed a strong sense of empathy, kindness and skill helping others in need. Jen is a Practical Nurse specializing in pediatric care and still finds time to be a Girl Scout Leader. I highly recommend Jen for a King County Live OUT Nanny position to any family.”
