“I want to become an Issaquah Live IN Nanny because it gives me the opportunity to directly affect a child’s life and help a family become closer. I am supportive of my family and consider myself blessed to have my family and opportunities in my life. It is sometimes hard to put my personality into a direct description, but if I had to describe myself in three words, they would be optimistic, engaging, and fearless. I want to have that satisfaction of helping a new generation make life better. I want to establish interpersonal relationships with children, rather than in a classroom setting where it is mostly professional. I feel that children are the innocence left in life. They are the future of our world, and the innocence they instill in the world keeps it from appearing too chaotic. Children are our hope for a brighter tomorrow. My goal as a Nanny is to instill safety, comfort, and dependability within a home for a family. I want to help out a family who is in need of that extra pair of hands. I want to provide children with the attention, stability, and nurturing they need. I want to educate the children on life skills, help the family grow closer, and do everything that I can to help the household. I am willing to do housekeeping at the family’s request; that includes anything that will not take away from me helping the children. I will make sure the children learn to clean up after themselves, and making cleaning fun is always an activity that will benefit children in the long run. I will make sure to always clean up a mess that I have made, and when it needs to be done, I will vacuum, sweep, dust, and mop the floors. If I had to describe myself in five adjectives I would say that I am optimistic, engaging, fearless, dependable, and open-minded. I know that establishing a daily routine in a child’s life is one of the best activities to do. I would hope to encourage much outdoor play, educational games and activities, and if age-appropriate, working on school work and studying. I was an English major in college, so one of my favorite hobbies is reading. I also played softball and basketball throughout high school. I love to hike, bike ride, and swim, walk my dog, volunteer, and learn. I enjoy museums, art classes, sewing, and crafts. I would hope to incorporate as many educational, but fun, activities into a daily routine as possible! I would hope a family would know there is no perfect family, and coming from a family that has been anything but perfect, I understand that every family still has the opportunity to be happy. If I would have to describe the ideal family searching for a Nanny like me, it would be one with open minds.”
“Allyson did an excellent job of determining students' needs and designing instruction to meet the needs of all the learners. For all subjects, her lessons contained diverse activities for all learners. She would plan a hands-on activity during almost every lesson. She also planned many review activities to keep concepts fresh in the students' minds. Allyson worked hard to change behaviors in the classroom. She did learn that many behaviors take a variety of interventions and time to modify. This is a challenging class that is very talkative with many behavioral needs. Allyson used positive reinforcement and praise daily. She would also spontaneously reward with stickers or other things to engage the students. She truly enjoys children and would often engage them in conversation. She tried to form bonds with students to help improve on-task behavior. She learned that what will work with some students, may not work for others. Allyson brought wonderful contributions to our classroom. She will be a valued professional in any career she chooses, especially as an Issaquah Live IN Nanny.”
“Allyson has demonstrated maturity, adaptability, organization and a genuine love for students throughout her seven-week experience. I have been inspired by the maturity Allyson has displayed throughout her experience and feel that should would be an ideal Issaquah Live IN Nanny. She was able to successfully educate students with diverse needs due to the maturity she would display during undesirable situations. Allyson adaptability was evident each week, day, hour and minute she worked with the students. She was able to adapt her lessons to the diverse needs of every learner. She was also able to adapt to constructive criticism, for example, she would effectively implement new ideas and techniques given to her during evaluations. I would imagine she had been placed into similar experiences throughout her life, therefore, she was well equipped to tackle the obstacles and distractions of the school day. Her organizational skills will help her throughout her first year. She proved that she has a genuine love of students by working tirelessly to help them achieve their goals. She found time to talk to students that needed extra attention or support. She dealt with negative situations in a positive manner, which allowed for a positive learning environment. Allyson took advantage of every minute to work with students, which fosters a mutual respect between the students and herself.”
“I have been Allyson’s student teacher supervisor for her 7-week experience in 5th grade. During this time, she has demonstrated her enthusiastic approach to teaching and her positive attitude. Her growth as a teacher has been, in part, due to her willingness to accept constructive criticism and to act to make improvements in the writing and execution of her lesson plans. Allyson implemented technology during this student teaching experience. She investigated sites on the Internet for ideas and pertinent worksheets to be used in her lessons. She provided opportunities for her students to do research and word processing on school computers. Allyson has successfully shown her effectiveness as a teacher and I recommend her for a permanent Issaquah Live IN Nanny position”
