"I was brought up in an Italian-American family filled with an enormous amount of love, laughter, and support. My parents were a gift I will always treasure because who I am today is because of them. They taught me to love, never judge and always give the benefit of the doubt. It is no wonder that I love children because no matter where we went, my family always took care of everyone else’s children! I would love nothing else at this point in my life than to work as a nanny for a loving family! All of the parents at my daycare call me Peter Pan because I look and act much younger than my age and I always tell everyone that I will never grow up because that is the way the children see me as "old kid". I hope this will be the case for many years to come! If I was asked to describe in one sentence the reason I have chosen to be in the Nanny profession over any other it would have to be because working with children and being an important part of their growth and development is the most rewarding job anyone could ever hope to have. I have been serving in some form of childcare for over 20 years and can honestly say I love and excel at what I do! I feel the children are tomorrow’s future and we as parents and caregivers have to love, nurture and provide a strong foundation for them so that they may grow to become healthy, happy, secure, self-confident and productive adults. Let me add that as we are doing this to not forget to allow children to be children, for childhood only happens once and should be enjoyed and treasured, as they grow older. My goal as a Nanny is to be the best I can be and attend to each individual child’s particular needs. Whatever I can do to help a child learn and keep them interested in learning about anything, while giving the all the love and support children crave, that is my ultimate goal! I am willing to do housekeeping that includes any light cleaning and cooking. If I had to describe myself in five adjectives I would say that I am positive, good-natured, happy, determined and energetic. Activities that I would like to incorporate in the daily plan for the family I care for would include educational games, arts and crafts, music, and outdoor activities. Each child is an individual with individual interests so I would try to pursue their particular interests a little further to the best of my abilities!
