"I am a very caring and compassionate person! When I work for a family, I like to feel like I am part of their family. I absolutely love children, and care for them as if they were my own. If I was asked to describe in one sentence the reason I have chosen to be in the Nanny profession over any other it would have to be because I truly love children, and I enjoy having such an emotionally fulfilling job! "I have known Shanay in a child care capacity when she was a teacher at my son's daycare. Shanay also cared for our infant son in our home. She is a vibrant, energetic, and responsible caregiver who took an active role in the supervision of our son! She played with him, created new games, read books, played music and participated in art projects. She was a good communicator by always recording the days' activities including diaper changes, feedings, playtime or any other unusual occurrence. "Shanay worked in several different classrooms with children ranging from 6 weeks-5 years old, but remained mostly in the infant room working with children from 6 weeks to 12 months old. Her duties included, but were not limited to assisting lead teachers, tending to the general needs of infants and children, creating outdoor and indoor activities, and demonstrating and assisting with arts and crafts. I worked alongside Shanay mainly in the infant room. Although her position was teacher’s assistant, she often took the initiative to organize activities for all of the children while keeping up with the ongoing needs that infants have such as feeding and changing diapers. Through the way Shanay engaged with each child and the amount of time she invested in their individual needs, it was and still is apparent to me that she genuinely cares for each child’s happiness and well-being.
