Along with completing the weekly lesson plans, Keenan assisted the speech therapists in planning a weekly communication group. Keenan had the opportunity to attend back to school night, parent conferences, and nutrition clinics. During each of these meetings, Keenan presented herself in a professional manner! The students in my class are beginning to use switch access and icons for expressive communication. Keenan was able to incorporate the icons and the use of their switches in a variety of lessons and activities. A majority of the students in my class are dependent in all areas of self-help. Keenan was able to learn a variety of feeding techniques and follow all recommendations made by the speech therapists in regards to their eating and drinking.
