Frequently Asked Questions
From registering to being hired, how much time does the typical process usually take? registration
The process will vary for every household. After reviewing three to five candidates, most families choose to hire a Nanny. Our aim is to offer ongoing support in order to help you find the perfect candidate for your family as efficiently as possible!
Hours of Operation?
Our dedicated team of ABC Nanny Source placement counselors is available for assistance Monday through Friday, ensuring continuous support from 9am to 5pm.
How many nannies are currently in the pool of available candidates?
We always have a steady supply of Nannies available for placement throughout the year. However, there is a high demand for the top-notch Nannies we offer, so availability may occasionally be limited. We are committed to upholding our stringent procedures and will not compromise on the quality of caregivers in our database. This sets our high caliber Nannies apart from the competition.
How are taxes managed? What is the process for handling taxes?
We highly recommend GTM Payroll Services as the company of choice. It is our suggestion for every family hiring an ABC Nanny to utilize their exceptional resource. Their expertise lies in household employee payroll and they have built an excellent rapport with both our families and nannies.
Are there any additional advantages I should consider offering to the nanny? Are there any other perks that I should provide to the nanny? Are there any supplementary benefits that I should include in the nanny's package?
ABC Nanny Source may not have control over determining the benefits, but it's important for families to consider offering a benefit package in order to compete for and retain highly sought-after Nannies. This package should typically include two weeks of vacation time off (with one week coinciding with the family vacation and one week at the nanny's discretion), paid major holidays, and paid sick time.
Are we obligated to employ the nanny we hire for a minimum of one year?
No. The sole responsibility lies with the Nanny and ABC Nanny Source. There is no requirement for your family to maintain the nanny's salary or employment if you no longer require her services. ABC Nannies are required to sign a one year commitment pledge, and the agency provides a one year guarantee in the unlikely event that your hired nanny doesn't work out. However, your family is not obligated to continue paying her salary if you no longer need nanny services, regardless of the reason (such as relocation, unemployment, or if the mother decides to stay at home). This sets us apart from Au Pair Agencies and those offering nannies from outside the local area, offering a significant advantage.
Is there any kind of training involved in becoming a Nanny in NE?
All applicants seeking acceptance into the database of ABC Nanny Source must possess a valid CPR Certification. It is a requirement that we uphold to ensure the safety and well-being of the children under our care.
How does the one-year guarantee work?
Simply put, if your nanny doesn't work out for any reason within the one year time period, we will gladly start a new nanny search for your family and support you in selecting a replacement. It is important to note that this is a rare occurrence for us, and we are pleased to announce it seldom happens.
Do you have bi-lingual nannies?
Yes, it is mandatory for all nannies to possess fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English as stated by the placement counselor. Moreover, a significant number of our professional nannies are also proficient in other languages such as Spanish, French, and even Sign Language. If this is a preference for your family, please inform the assigned placement counselor through this link so that suitable candidates can be selected accordingly.
Is ABC Nanny Source a National Company or a local NE Nanny Agency?
ABC Nanny Source takes pride in being a family-owned agency rather than an impersonal National agency. As such, we prioritize ensuring that every candidate seeking employment through our agency meets our strict screening standards. This policy is crucial to ensure the optimal experience for all our families, and we make no exceptions.
What payment methods are accepted?
To ensure ease of use, you have the option to pay the hiring fee using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover. Take advantage of this opportunity and get registered without delay!
Does ABC Nanny Source offer live in and live out Nannies?
When it comes to childcare, ABC Nanny Source is the go-to agency for both live in and live out options. Our expertise lies in matching families with nannies who can either reside with them or work on a daily basis. We make sure that all our live out nannies are conveniently located within a 30-minute radius of their homes. This means that every candidate your family considers will be local, ensuring ease and convenience in terms of proximity.
We only need an occassional weekend babysitter – Can you help with that?
No, all ABC Nannies are interested in pursuing career opportunities rather than temporary or occasional positions. Our permanent part-time Nannies mandate a minimum of 25 hours per week.
How do you specifically choose the nannies for our particular family?
When it comes to "harmonizing" Nannies with Families, there are various aspects that are carefully considered. One crucial factor is the distance for live out candidates - each live out nanny is placed within a 30-minute radius of their home. Therefore, every candidate your family is presented with will be local and familiar with the area. Additionally, it is essential for each prospective nanny to feel completely at ease with your family's description and the unique needs and requests you have. We will only recommend candidates who have relevant experience and are comfortable with the age of your children. For example, if you have a newborn, we will solely present candidates who have experience with and genuinely enjoy working with babies. Moreover, during the initial consultation, your counselor will inquire about the "type" of candidate you are seeking, taking into account qualities such as being bubbly, professional, religious, nurturing, etc. We make a genuine effort to consider these criteria when sorting through potential matches for your family. We also take into consideration any pets your family might have and any allergies the nanny may have indicated. The matching process requires a lot of effort, but it serves the purpose of providing the desired results.
How do I know that every candidate that I'm considering is safe?
It goes without saying that not just anyone is welcomed into your home. Our meticulous 10 Step Screening Process provides thorough verification of all references, clearances of criminal background checks, negative results of a 5 panel drug test conducted by Quest Diagnostics, validation of vehicle registration, professional verification of identity, CPR certifications, and more. We take every possible precaution to ensure that only trustworthy and qualified nannies are introduced to your family. Rest assured, we go above and beyond to guarantee your peace of mind.
