“St. Xavier Nanny: The Day Camp offers a well-structured play-based program that focuses on teaching social skills and providing recreational opportunities for children and adolescents who struggle with inappropriate behaviors, communication difficulties, and motor and sequencing challenges. Many of the campers have been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome and Autism. We were incredibly fortunate to have Shelley as a teacher assistant at our camp. She played a crucial role in assisting the classroom teacher with planning and executing daily lessons. The children in her class admired her creativity, sense of purpose, and the patience she displayed each day. Our campers sometimes face frustrations or difficulties in interactions, but Shelley has the remarkable ability to address any situation assertively while also exhibiting warmth and care. She provided them with the stability they thrive on, consistently and without fail. Shelley's outstanding rapport with the students, as well as her fellow staff members, was an immense asset. She is an exceptional young woman who possesses a strong work ethic, a sense of responsibility, and excellent communication skills that will undoubtedly propel her to great heights. Our program truly benefitted from her valuable participation!”
