“I cannot express enough praise for Sheri, our nanny in Garrett Park. Initially, Sheri joined our family for a month during a difficult and stressful time. However, she not only agreed to stay longer but consistently exceeded our expectations in making the past year more manageable for all of us, especially my two sons. Despite the challenges of being part of our family's ups and downs, Sheri remained a loving and positive individual throughout. She quickly formed a strong bond with our children, providing them with affection and care while also maintaining structure and discipline. Sheri is responsible for the boys from school until dinnertime, and she goes above and beyond by assisting them with almost all their homework, which is not an easy task considering one of our sons has a learning disability. I can always rely on Sheri to keep me informed about their lives and communicate any updates from their teachers. In addition to these invaluable qualities, Sheri possesses excellent organizational skills, which have been a blessing for both the boys and me. With numerous appointments and conflicting activities to manage, Sheri has handled the challenge with ease. Furthermore, she doesn't waste any time while the boys are in school, taking on various tasks for me, from running errands to researching specific inquiries and potential purchases. (Speaking of purchases, Sheri is also a fantastic bargain-hunter and has diligently managed our budget!) Her dedication has alleviated a significant amount of stress and allowed me to meet deadlines that would have otherwise been missed.”
“I want to provide some context on why the nanny was hired and our family situation in Garrett Park. Prior to this, I had been a stay-at-home Dad, but needed to return to work due to my divorce with my wife. Additionally, I was in the process of moving to a new residence in September. Initially, we were looking for someone full-time for the month of August with the intention of reducing their hours to part-time in September when the children started school. Our eldest son faced challenges with behavior and emotional issues, making it difficult to parent him. The divorce had also taken a toll on the children's behavior, resulting in anger within the household. However, despite being aware of all these circumstances, Sheri accepted the position with enthusiasm and seamlessly managed the daily logistics of errands, doctor's appointments, and school pickups. She maintained constant communication with me through phone and email, alleviating any concerns I had regarding the safety of my children. Sheri collaborated with an Applied Behavior Analyst (ABA) to implement a reward-based parenting technique, seeking guidance from my son's Psychologist and Therapist to better understand his needs. She also worked with my youngest son's Therapist to address his anger stemming from the divorce. Sheri utilized all this knowledge to create and implement an after-school program that balanced homework, activities, and leisure time. Remarkably, she still found the time to keep the house clean, prepare lunches, and cook dinner. Before leaving for the day, she always made an effort to update me on the day's events, review homework, and discuss upcoming plans. The transformation in my children's behavior has been astounding. My eldest son has shown remarkable improvement academically and is noticeably calmer. Similarly, my youngest son's anger has significantly decreased, and he is behaving much better overall. I attribute much of this positive change to Sheri's genuine love and care for them. Furthermore, Sheri went above and beyond her role as a nanny and assumed responsibilities as a personal assistant. She assisted with various tasks for my ex-wife and me, including helping us find a new apartment by meeting with realtors and purchasing furniture and other necessities. Since the boys primarily reside with me, Sheri played a crucial role in creating a comfortable and safe living environment. When I faced challenges with the landlord, she took the initiative in gathering information from local authorities and accompanied me to court to resolve the matter. As the year progressed, we required additional help in caring for the children on weeknights and weekends. Sheri took charge of the entire hiring process, from placing advertisements and screening phone calls to conducting interviews and negotiating salaries. Although I let her believe that I made the decisions, it was evident that she had an intuitive knack for finding someone who, like herself, genuinely cared for and loved the children. She also became my personal assistant, managing errands, reminding me of appointments, and assuming control of various tasks, allowing me to focus on adapting to my new job. Replacing her will undoubtedly be a challenging task. Sheri is an incredibly dependable individual who effortlessly handles day-to-day responsibilities and is flexible when adjustments are needed. She is receptive to advice from others and translates them into effective action. While she is capable of offering sound advice, she always seeks approval before taking any action. This past year has been difficult for my family, but Sheri has made it easier by taking on daily chores such as preparing lunches, cooking dinner, doing the children's laundry, keeping the apartment clean, and grocery shopping. Most importantly, she has been a source of comfort, guidance, and occasional disciplinarian for my children. Her dedication is truly remarkable, and I wholeheartedly recommend her as a nanny in Garrett Park representing ABC Nanny Source.”
“One of the most important decisions for parents is choosing a child care provider who can ensure their children are in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment. Luckily, I have been incredibly fortunate to find an amazing nanny in Garrett Park named Sheri. She has been an absolute lifesaver for our family. Our journey with Sheri began in March 1997 when my husband and I interviewed her through a nanny agency to care for our three children. Our children were aged 6 months, 3 years, and 6 years at that time. We needed someone to watch them for three days a week, approximately 10 hours a day. From the moment we met Sheri, we knew she was the perfect fit for our family. She instantly won over our three-year-old by reading a book with him while he sat comfortably on her lap. Sheri has an incredible ability to provide warmth, encouragement, and comfort to my children by tapping into her own inner child. She often sits on the floor with them, engaging in childhood games like hide-and-seek, Chutes and Ladders, and cards. We often tease her about her boundless energy, as she can play ten rounds of Candy Land with the same enthusiasm as the first game! Throughout the eight years Sheri has been with us, she has adapted her care and interaction to meet the changing needs of our children. She skillfully handled all the responsibilities of caring for my 6-month-old, including navigating through illnesses, diaper changes, and food preparation. When my child in Arbutus was diagnosed with ADHD in 1999, Sheri went above and beyond to provide him with the additional patience and guidance he needed. She even followed a special diet we implemented, eliminating foods with preservatives, artificial colors, and flavors. Whenever he required therapy sessions, she made sure he got there on time. Sheri has also played a significant role in shaping my daughter into a confident and upbeat pre-teen. She has offered guidance on hairstyles, clothing choices, and general advice. Sheri is truly an exceptional and dynamic individual who genuinely loves children. It is evident from the special bond the children share with her."peanut butter and jelly kisses"the "kiss on each cheek" playground in Garrett Park. Sheri, our trusted nanny, is known for her reliability and trustworthiness. Punctuality is always a priority for her as she consistently arrives on time each day. She is incredibly adaptable and can think independently, eliminating the need for constant instructions. In addition to her childcare duties, Sheri efficiently manages regular household tasks such as laundry, dishwasher emptying, light vacuuming, and tidying. She goes above and beyond by making wholesome school lunches, grocery shopping, preparing dinners, and baking delightful desserts. Sheri's dedication is evident in her willingness to go the extra mile. For instance, when unpacking groceries, she not only unloads them but also takes the initiative to clean out the refrigerator and wipe down shelves, resulting in a spotless and organized appearance. Active participation in the children's activities is another remarkable quality of Sheri. During the summer, she accompanies them to swimming lessons, where she fearlessly jumps into the deep end to provide reassurance and assistance to our son as he dives off the diving board. Sheri's involvement extends to attending school plays, concerts, and driving the children to scouting events. When the kids encounter challenges with their homework, Sheri is always there to provide support and guidance. The playground she takes the children to is affectionately called the kiss on each cheek playground by the kids themselves"Sheri's Playground"Our nanny in Garrett Park is absolutely wonderful. She chose this neighborhood as her playground of choice because she feels it is the safest one around with plenty of open spaces to keep an eye on all the children at once. The neighborhood mothers are so impressed with Sheri's skills and enthusiasm that they often tell me how lucky I am to have her looking after my children. Whenever my kids are sick, Sheri is there to help nurse them back to health. She is ready to take them to the doctor if needed, and I can always trust her to administer their medication. When my son had pneumonia, she stayed by his side, attentively attending to his needs. To keep the children entertained, she engages them in peaceful and engaging activities. Thankfully, we have been relatively healthy, but we've provided Sheri with opportunities to handle things like colds, flu, conjunctivitis, ear infections, stomach ailments, and even recovery from surgery. In addition to her excellent care at home, Sheri has also been a tremendous help when we go on family vacations. She expertly planned our entire trip to Orlando, Florida, creating an itinerary of exciting events. Her knowledge of the Disney theme parks proved invaluable in ensuring we got the most out of our vacation. She also helped us keep a watchful eye on the children during trips to the water parks and the Maryland shore. Because of Sheri, my husband and I were able to enjoy some time on our own without worrying about the safety of our children. In summary, Sheri has truly been a godsend to our family. She has provided us with countless hours of worry-free childcare. She is reliable, energetic, imaginative, and loves to have fun. She brings out the best in our children and teaches them in creative ways. Thanks to Sheri's positive influence, my kids are growing up to be confident and secure individuals.”
“In December 1999, we had the pleasure of meeting Sheri, who became our nanny in Garrett Park. As Holly and Rachel, our daughter, shared a strong bond and were close friends, Sheri often found herself looking after them. It was a common occurrence for Rachel to spend the night at Holly's place, where Sheri took care of both girls. We had complete confidence in Sheri's ability to keep Rachel safe and well-cared for. Sheri consistently proved herself to be dependable and responsible in her role. Rachel had a deep affection for Sheri, thanks to her vibrant energy and passion for her job.”
“In 1988, I was first introduced to Sheri, who happened to be my full-time nanny in Garrett Park. As fate would have it, she was also my cousin. At that time, my older daughter Alesandra was 2 years old, while my youngest daughter Danielle had just been born. Sheri initially started as a fill-in for Louise, who took days off or had scheduled vacations. This arrangement lasted throughout 1989 until Louise had to leave her position. It was then that I decided to hire Sheri as my full-time nanny, and she truly excelled in this role.
Sheri's presence as a nanny in Garrett Park was nothing short of fantastic. Her caring nature, patience, and willingness to help made her an invaluable addition to our family. Every day, my daughters eagerly anticipated her arrival. She effortlessly attended to their needs - changing diapers, feeding, playing, and even assisting with grocery shopping and light errands. I had complete trust in her, to the extent that I felt comfortable with her driving my children in her car. We even invited her to vacation with us on our boat and at the beach during the summer, further cementing her place in our lives.
However, as time went on, my mother decided to move in with us permanently. With her presence, the need for a full-time nanny diminished. It was with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to Sheri. She was not only an extraordinary nanny but also an exceptional person overall. I am grateful for the opportunity for her to have been part of our lives and will always cherish the memories shared with her.”
