“Marcia (Cia, as we call her) is caring, trustworthy and engaging. She treats our son as if he were her own, with a great balance of love, tender teaching, and patience. She is always on time, listens to our concerns/updates/requests attentively, and has helped us as first-time parents understand each developmental stage. Cia is engaging and energetic. Rather than simply watching our son play, she is interactive with him, running around the park, reading books, talking, singing (she has a beautiful voice and I have heard her sing tenderly to him on many occasions!). My friends have spotted Cia at the park with our son and commented that they were impressed with how active she was with him. She also proactively created small playgroups for him and is very creative with activities suitable for each stage of development. She seems to genuinely enjoy her time with children, and she relates to our son in a delightful way, turning practically everything into a fun game or song. When she first started caring for him, my husband and I joked that she was like the Baby Whisperer or Mary Poppins. Cia has always said that her job was to treat our son like her own child and to make our lives easier -- she takes pride in that and has lived up to that tenfold! We have been extremely lucky to have had her in our home. We are convinced that our son owes much of his positive development to her presence. If you want to know that your child is extremely loved and cared for while you are away, then Cia is the right nanny for you! Cia is a positive, affectionate, and energetic force. She is extremely comfortable and confident in childcare. We were a part of a nanny share where Cia watched my young son (from when he was 3 months old) as well as another young boy (4 months older than my son). While this seemed like a daunting task to me, Cia was not phased. She excelled at caring for both boys' individual needs as well as helping them learn how to socialize with each other. Cia has a beautiful singing voice and was always singing to the boys. Day in and day out I watched my son become transfixed when Cia sang him the goodbye song. “Marcia (Cia) certainly fulfilled all job requirements. As a new mother, I had little experience with children, especially infants! Cia was sensitive to the developmental needs of my son. She managed to care for him and teach me without making me feel incompetent. She bathed, dressed, fed, played with, read to, and simply adored my son. She was willing to do laundry, take him to doctor’s appointments, potty train, and do creative activities with him. My son has long hair, which he hates to have washed or combed, and she often managed to style it. Cia started working with me when my son was 5 months old, and I returned to work part-time. I had a cesarean, and I was depressed. I really looked forward to her arrival on the weekends when I worked. Just knowing she was coming made it a little easier to deal with the crying, diapers, and feedings. I went back to work full-time that October, and she worked for me regularly. My son was having his circumcision. She did a great job caring for him post-operatively. She changed his diapers frequently and was diligent about applying and administering his medications.
