Frequently Asked Questions
From registration to hiring, how long does the typical process take?
Each household's experience will vary in this regard. After evaluating three to five candidates, most families tend to hire a Nanny. Our goal is to offer ongoing support, ensuring that you find the perfect candidate for your family as efficiently as possible!
Hours of Operation?
Our placement counselors at ABC Nanny Source are here to assist you Monday through Friday, with availability from 9am to 5pm.
How many nannies are currently at your disposal?
We have a steady supply of Nannies available for placement throughout the year. Nevertheless, the demand for our exceptional high caliber Nannies is consistently high, leading to occasional availability limitations. Our commitment to upholding stringent procedures means we will never compromise on the quality of Nannies we offer just to increase the number of candidates. Our meticulous selection process sets our Nannies apart from the competition!
How are taxes managed? What is the process for handling taxes?
When it comes to household employee payroll services for ABC Nannies, our top recommendation is GTM Payroll Services. We highly encourage every family considering hiring an ABC Nanny to take advantage of this valuable resource. GTM Payroll Services specializes in handling household employee payroll and has established a strong reputation with both our families and nannies.
In addition to all the aforementioned benefits, are there any other perks that I should consider offering the nanny?
ABC Nanny Source recognizes that it is not responsible for determining the benefits provided. However, families should keep in mind that in order to attract and retain highly sought-after Nannies, it is important to offer a competitive benefit package. This package should typically include vacation time off, usually two weeks for full-time employment (one week aligned with the family vacation and one week at the nanny's discretion), paid major holidays, and paid sick leave.
Are we obligated to employ the nanny we hire for a minimum of one year?
No, the Nanny and ABC Nanny Source are solely responsible for meeting the obligations. It is not mandatory for your family to continue the nanny's salary or employment if you no longer require her services. Each ABC Nanny is required to sign a one year commitment agreement upon acceptance, and the agency provides a one year guarantee to each family in the unlikely event of any issues with the hired nanny. However, your family is not obligated to maintain her salary if you no longer need nanny services due to reasons such as relocation, a parent's job loss, or the mother deciding to stay at home. This advantageous aspect sets ABC Nanny Source apart from AuPair Agencies and long-distance nanny providers.
Is there any kind of training involved in becoming a Nanny in KY?
It is a requirement for all applicants to ABC Nanny Source to possess a valid CPR Certification before being accepted into our database.
How does the one-year guarantee work?
We take pride in the fact that we rarely need to initiate a new nanny search for your family. However, in the unlikely event that your nanny does not work out within the one year time period, we will simply assist you in selecting someone new.
Do you have bi-lingual nannies?
The placement counselor is essential in this process. To begin, it is mandatory for all nannies to have excellent English language skills in speaking, reading, and writing. Additionally, numerous professional nannies are proficient in other languages such as Spanish, French, and even Sign Language. If this is a preference that you have, please communicate it to the placement counselor assigned to your family. This way, she can take this into consideration when choosing suitable candidates for your position.
Is ABC Nanny Source a National Company or a local KY Nanny Agency?
ABC Nanny Source is not your typical National agency. As a family-owned agency, we prioritize personalized service over impersonal transactions. Hence, we maintain a strict screening process for all candidates who seek employment through our agency, without any exceptions. Our commitment to these standards is vital to ensure the utmost satisfaction for our families.
What payment methods are accepted?
To ensure ease of use, you have the option to pay the hiring fee using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover. You have the opportunity to get registered as early as today!
Does ABC Nanny Source offer live in and live out Nannies?
ABC Nanny Source is an expert in providing childcare solutions, whether you require live in or live out services. Our dedicated team ensures that all live out nannies are conveniently placed within a 30 minute radius from their residence. Thus, every candidate presented to your family will be exceptionally nearby, guaranteeing their convenient availability.
We only need an occassional weekend babysitter – Can you help with that?
All ABC Nannies are actively looking for career opportunities, not short term or casual assignments. Our part-time Nannies, who are seeking permanent positions, have a minimum requirement of 25 hours per week.
How do you specifically choose the nannies for our particular family?
When "harmonizing" nannies with families, several aspects are considered. One major factor is distance for live-out candidates, as each nanny is placed within a 30-minute radius of their home. This ensures that the candidates presented to your family will be local and familiar with the area. Additionally, it is important that each prospective nanny feels completely comfortable with your family's description and the unique needs and requests you have. We only recommend candidates who have experience and are at ease with the age of your children. For example, if you have a newborn, we will only present you with candidates who have experience in and love working with babies. Your counselor will also take into account the salary range you have requested on your family application to ensure a close match. During the initial consultation, your counselor will ask you questions regarding the specific traits you are seeking in a candidate (such as being bubbly, professional, religious, nurturing, etc.), and we make a significant effort to consider these criteria when selecting the best match for your family. We also take into consideration any pets your family may have, taking care not to match a nanny with allergies to those specific pets. The matching process requires a lot of work, but it is all done with good purpose and aims to provide the desired results.
How do I know that every candidate that I'm considering is safe?
We understand the importance of welcoming only trustworthy individuals into your home. That's why our meticulous 10 Step Screening Process is in place. This process involves verifying all references, obtaining clearances for criminal backgrounds, negative results from a 5 panel drug test conducted by Quest Diagnostics, obtaining vehicle registration details, professional identity verification, CPR certifications, and more. We leave no stone unturned to ensure that only qualified and reliable nannies are introduced to your family.
