Sussex County Nanny Job:
Full Time: Monday through Friday (8:00am-6:00pm)
Children: 7-year-old and 3-year-old
Salary Offering: $600-$700/week, Based on Experience
Note: Be aware of daytrana patch, tenex for daughter (has beautifully managed ADHD); epipen for son’s milk and egg allergies.
Children's Activities: Kiara rides horses, takes piano lessons, goes to handwork studio for knitting classes, takes ice-skating lessons, loves imaginary play with her Barbie dolls and plastic horses, and lots of arts and crafts type activities as well as playing tag and catching and studying butterflies. She’s very smart, very imaginative, and has wonderfully unique ideas. Riken loves animals, trains, construction vehicles and cars and trucks (typical!). He’s very bright and verbal for his age and fun to be around. He likes playing in the sandbox, gymnastics, riding his various vehicles, puzzles.
Position Description: Having fun with the kids, as described above, will be the biggest thing, preparing lunches usually and only occasionally dinner (of the chicken nugget variety, not expecting them to watch kids and be a gourmet!). Almost always kids baths, frequently putting Riken in for his naps. Household: unloading/loading dishwasher, keeping area where kids eat and kitchen countertops clean and cleared off throughout day as well as kitchen and play room floors, keep toys neat and very sorted and organized (this is a big thing for me, to put all pieces back where they belong at nap and bed time unless its a project in progress). Occasional food prepping; NO laundry but ironing for 2 kids plus mother. Straight their rooms on daily basis, sheets washed every 1 1/2 weeks, kids baths cleaned every 2 weeks or as needed, two bathrooms downstairs that kids use kept neat and clean on daily basis. Laundry room kept neat and clean; help managing supplies for kids activities and help with organization of everything in the house.
PARENT REQUEST:
"We need someone who will love them and will be exciting, fun, follow their lead and take them further with it. Someone who knows that you don’t sit down and practice counting and colors, for example, you play trains and as an aside say "wow, you have so many trains. Lets count them." or "Wow, look at your train, its almost all blue. Which one isn’t blue?" Someone that’s able to do lots of imaginary play, making Barbies, trains, and dinosaurs act out whole scenes from movies or made up stories that teach the kids something, or sometimes not. Someone silly and fun, experienced with setting and enforcing limits and won’t put up with being treated impolitely. Someone who thinks its ok generally to go outside with bare feet and to climb around in a creek and get muddy, to splash in puddles and play in mud and climb trees and catch bugs. Someone who will say yes we can paint rocks if someone suggests it, or better yet comes up with the idea themselves and suggests making a rock family, even though it is a pain to get out all the paints, get the kids cleaned up afterward and the things put away. Someone who thinks it would be cool, not a pain, to drag the easel from the basement and take it outside so they can paint outside. Someone who is so very aware of safety issues. Someone who talks to and listens to the kids constantly and validates their communication. Someone who talks to them and asks them things even while cleaning up from lunch, unless they’re engrossed in something. Someone who has experience at a Sussex County Household Manager Job who wants to help make things run smoother. Someone who will be a team with me to get done what we need to do to keep the house clean, safe and organized for the kids. Oh, and someone who likes, no loves, things to be organized, categorized, sorted, in their proper place, for each thing to have a place that it goes back to at the end of the day. Its better to make a mess doing something cool with the kids and run out of time to clean it up, though, than to not do the messy project. (Hopefully you can get it cleaned up too, though, expecting them to help but not expecting that help to be all that helpful usually)."

“Sonya was our nanny/house manager for four years. She cared for both our children since the day that each was born (they are now 4 years old and 22 months old) at her Sussex County Household ManagerJob. Sonya has been an excellent nanny, and we never had to worry about our children’s wellbeing! She was completely trustworthy and loved and cared for our children like they were her own, which is why my children both enjoyed her company immensely and miss her very much. Sonya was very reliable, as well as extremely punctual when reporting to work each day. She performed many tasks and was willing to do whatever we asked of her. She is a caring person who put the children’s wellbeing above all else! Cleanliness was extremely important to her, and it showed in everything she did (laundry, bathing, hygiene, dishes, etc.). Sonya was neat and had good organizational and planning skills. She struck a nice balance between being firm and having fun with our children. She is passionate about her profession, and always put our children’s happiness, comfort, and wellness first. She arranged play dates, baked cookies/cakes, did crafts, and went for long walks with our children. Sonya is very experienced at managing a household and does not need a lot of direction or daily oversight. In closing, Sonya became a trusted member of our family, and a loving caretaker of our children!”
“Elena’s work in the house was exemplary! She made the extra effort to ensure that the house was clean, well maintained, and orderly at her Sussex County Household Manager Job. She did the shopping, handled the errands, and was comfortable making appointments with contractors and service personnel that seem to be an inevitable part of owning a home. As a childcare provider, Elena was terrific! She formed a very close bond with children of all ages, we had complete trust in her judgment, and we counted on her to make sure that our daughter was well fed and transported safely where she needed to be. She exhibits the highest standards of honesty, trustworthiness, and reliability. She has a bright and sunny disposition, which makes her nice to have in the home. We recommend Elena completely and without reservation!”
“Gina worked for our family for two years. Our sudden transfer to Hong Kong for two years led to the termination of her employment. When Gina started with us at her Sussex County Household Manager Job, our two sons were four and seven years old. Gina was responsible for the children when they were not in school, and for taking care of the house Monday through Friday. During her period of employment, Gina rarely missed a day. She worked quietly, efficiently, and provided the children with a mature, capable presence around the house. The children developed a friendly relationship with Gina that continues to this day!”
“Charlotte cared for my children and managed my household for approximately one year. During the time she was with us at her Sussex County Household Manager Job, Maria flawlessly handled a very busy schedule including: driving to two separate schools, coordinating car pools, getting the children to/from sports/extracurricular activities, caring for the family dog and interacting with service people, as needed. Charlotte also made and attended health- related appointments for the children. In addition, Charlotte cooked wonderful, healthy meals and kept my house spotless. She was trusted with a weekly budget and credit card. In every interaction with others, or me, I've observed Charlotte to be professional, discrete and detail-oriented. I recommend her for a child care provider position without reservation.”
