“I am writing to recommend Elsie for any position where she will be caring for children. I know Elsie in her role at her Kent County Child Care Job caring for a four-year-old boy, Connor, and a 9-year-old girl, Ella. I was an instructor for a Parent-Tot class at the YMCA where met Elsie. During my time there, Elsie brought Connor to class early every week like clockwork. I was instantly impressed with her promptness. Through this class, Elsie and I became friendly and got to know each other’s children. Over the three years I have known Elsie, she has been trusted with my children. Her genuine love for children is reflected when she cares for Connor and Ella. The two of them regard her like she is part of the family. Elsie makes an honest effort to make play dates for Connor and to foster friendships to teach him interpersonal relationships. She values the outdoors and having kids play, which has shown in her expert knowledge of parks in our area. This is one of the ways our boys have solidified their friendship. Routines are created for the children throughout the day that are effectively balanced with playtime and rest. In addition, Elsie values solid nutrition for the children. Healthy lunches are packed for Connor that encourages him to maintain a healthy lifestyle. She teaches manners and discipline, and lovingly enforces social courtesies. When leaving my son with her, I tell her to "treat him like your own.” because of her fairness with Connor's discipline. She follows through on everything. We have come to know her as a got to "super nanny" tips! Families that have Elsie as part of their lives are incredibly fortunate. She has a strong work ethic and love for children.
